Q: What does Pride mean to you?
Being comfortable sharing your true self!
Pride means accepting everyone for who they are and embracing individuality.
Being able to be your true, authentic self. Loving who you are and acknowledging the steps you have taken or continue to take despite any challenges you’ve faced.
Pride means being exactly who you are with no apologies. It means living the life you’re meant to live and empowering others to do the same!
I fall in the LGBTQ+ spectrum, but also feel that if I did not, I would still have a connection to the community through my family, and those I choose to call friends. Pride is the ability to surround myself with a phenomenal support group, who gets the opportunity to try and understand who I am, who I have been, and who I am constantly evolving into. Please note that sometimes the act of “just being yourself” is a revolutionary act for many because just by existing, they are smashing ideas of who society and others think they should be and how they should act.
Pride means remembering the people who paved the way for me to be who I am and honoring them by living my truth and being an example for others to follow. It’s about honoring oneself and being unapologetically me.
